Here is a simple dancing LED circuit. Which based on NE555 & CD4017. NE555 is wired as an astable multivibrator to trigged the clock pulses for the CD4017. Pin 14 of CD4017 work as the clock input receiver, the outputs Q0, Q1, to Q9 (check pin diagram of CD 4017) becomes high one by one alternatively. The LEDs connected to these pins light in the same style to provide a dancing effect. The speed of the dancing LEDs depend on the frequency of the clock pulses generated by the IC1 by trimming R2.
